Here’s the first tune from my new Jazztronica project, Matt Clark Three.
I’ve been influenced recently by a lot of the “Nu Jazz” music coming out of London and New York – artists like Onyx Collective and Shabaka Hutchings, and wanted to get back to writing some electronic type tunes with loops and lo-fi samples.

A day out in the country filming a live video for “Time Keeps Rolling” and other songs, ahead of our upcoming gigs at Cecil Sharp House in Camden and Petworth.
Last Saturday (17th March) saw a fantastic gig supporting The Urban Voodoo Machine at The Con Club in Lewes. Caaw didn’t get a great soundcheck as there wasn’t time, and went on stage almost immediately afterwards, just as the crowd were arriving.

I decided I needed a new bottleneck recently, so decided to make one from an old wine bottle. There’s something about the feel and weight of wine bottle necks that I love.
Here is the result…
I’ve been interested in alternative tunings for a while now, being quite heavily influenced by Delta Blues, and love experimenting with blues.
Then I discovered Bill Orcutt and things changed. Bill plays with only 4 strings, and in some odd tunings.
