Matt Clark Three – North Street 74 is now available on my Bandcamp page for FREE Download. The next instalment will be coming soon (release date TBC).
I’ll be setting up a mailing list soon, so if you’d like to keep up to date, stay tuned.
Here’s the first tune from my new Jazztronica project, Matt Clark Three.
I’ve been influenced recently by a lot of the “Nu Jazz” music coming out of London and New York – artists like Onyx Collective and Shabaka Hutchings, and wanted to get back to writing some electronic type tunes with loops and lo-fi samples.
Stay tuned for more – I’m planning a full EP release via Bandcamp, plus more videos, and who knows, maybe even a few live dates…
[Review in PluggedIn Brighton, published September 26, 2019 by Chris Hibberd]
Strange Pictures? What does it mean? Half remembered memories of what you thought you saw. Did you? The new release from Caaw opens a window into a world of bourbon-soaked memories with jazz-inflected avant-garde music playing and burbling in the background. Captain Beefheart and Tom Waits are having a tussle over a perfume filled top hat whilst Dr John watches on from the bayou distractedly.

“Quirky, whimsical, melodic lines in the tradition of great storytellers, French Quarter benders, trickster music, broken glass drunken poetry of lovers and thieves…” – Margaret Garrett (Mr. Airplane Man)

I’ve at last got round to recording the first tracks for the experimental album I started back in March. I now have a SoundCloud page where I’ll be releasing the whole album over the next few months.
Enjoy…
I’m very proud to have been asked to add some guitar to this track for Brighton based singer songwriter Morgan Ryan. It’s a beautiful song about the situation at the US-Mexico border.
